I seem to remember that someone here loves sunset pictures. Here's one for that person that my husband took. [/img]
Beautiful photo, wish I could see sunsets that pretty. Eileen will be along shortly to ooooh and ahhh and maybe pinch it for her file
What a really beautiful photograph jungseed and, yes, toni is right I'd love to pinch it for my file. :-D May I please :?:
Of course you can use it. When we were sitting in the boat with him clicking away on the camera I was already thinking you guys might like a copy of it.
Thanks for allowing us to have a copy of your wonderful photograph - It's now residing in my special file.
Just beautiful... Where is it taken? And what a cute town name -- Pardeeville! Is that the real name? Sounds like a fun place, he he.
Thank you all for the nice comments. The picture was taken very close to the lodge my husband and I own. (Deer Trail Lodge) It's about 6 miles outside of Vermilion Bay, Ontario. We are up there from mid-May to mid-Oct. every year. We were on our way back to the lodge after doing a "shore supper" for everyone at the lodge. You know, we go out on an island and cook the fresh fish, potatoes and beans on a fire and everyone sits on the rocks to eat. On the way back my husband stopped the boat and started taking pictures. I think he took 5 or 6, but this one was my favorite. Yes, the real name of the town I live closest to during the winter is Pardeeville. They have about 1,600 people in town. I live about 4 miles outside of town. It is a nice little town and no different from any other small mid-western town. Everyone knows everyone (or are somehow related) If you don't want everyone in town to know you did something, just don't do it to start with. And never say anything bad about anyone, you may be talking to a close realtive. Follow those two rules and you can live very nicely in any small town.
That outing, the Shore Supper sounds fantastic. I think I would love that. What kind of fish? Do you and your husband run the lodge like a B&B kind of place? Sure does look like it is in a gorgeous spot. I live in a teeny tiny town where a lot of families stay for generations (mine included). Have you ever heard the saying "the thing about living in a small town is that even if you don't know what you're doing, somebody else does!" That's my town too.
daisybeans, we usually have walleye and northern pike. We do this every Tuesday night. Usually in the lodge, but when the weather is nice and the right combination of people are there, we go out on the lake. We have the lodge and eight cabins on the lake. People usually come for a week. They relax and fish. Go golfing or whatever they want to do. I do think most small towns are alike. We like to laugh at the life style. But who would give it up? I like the fact that a trip to the grocery store takes at least an hour because you know almost everyone there. Each person has something new to tell you as you push your cart down the asile. It's OK that you can't walk for exercise in town because every other car will stop you to see if you would like a ride somewhere. And they would actually take you if you needed a ride. I don't mind being at the gas station when someone honks driving by and everyone waves. You look to see who it is after you wave. It doesn't matter that they were really honking at their brother that's next to you, you know them both anyway. It is true that everyone knows your business, but don't you think they really do hope for the best for you?
Beautiful sunset jungseed.I live in a small town to and its like all small towns.I love it but it took three hours to go to three stores last night.Seems like I met up with old friends I haven't seen in years.I forgot to get lots of things because of it.I did enjoy it .It sounds like you have a wonderful place to relax and enjoy yourselves and all who comes to stay.
