    Hi?

We have two shrubs in our front lawn that have grown considerably in the past few weeks. The shrub has succulent branches with large dark green leaves. The roots are thick, succulent and white in colour.

    :wave:Welcome to our forums.
Is there any chance you could take a photograph of the two shrubs? It would really help to see them or have some more information about them. Could you also let us know where about you are as this will be a benefit to us too.

Hi Eileen, apologies, re-attached the photos. We are from Melbourne, Australia.

If it was Britain I would say it was Acanthus mollis, but don't know if that is grown in Melbourne.

It looks like one of the acanthus sorts to me. You see them as relief work at the top of Greek columns from the Corinthian period. They grow wild on the lands in the Aegean sea area...like Turkey and Greece among others.
This plant can be very difficult to get rid of.
