Anybody in a hot climate try this variety? I've read they'll set tomatoes even when it's over 90 degrees. Apparently they are grown in hot dry places like East Texas. I'm hoping they'll do well in the desert Southwest. I'm planning for next year. This year I have Early Girl hybrids and Roma tomatoes. I got enough tomatoes to freeze and make salsa but just barely. I'm looking for another canner/slicing tomato that's open pollinated. I also planted Punta Banda tomatoes. This is a large cherry. Early and great for fresh eating.
Yo are going to plant for a spring crop and a fall crop. No tomato's pollen is mobile above about 90°F The plant might survivem but blossoms will just fall off unfertilized.
