If you want to party hearty, go to the local nursing home for Valentine's Day. Those folks know how to have a good time! We ate cake (note to self, more chocolate cake next time)and then played bingo. Never play bingo when half the participants are hearing impaired, many have canes, and all are fiercely competitive. One lady kept yelling "Bingo!" when she didn't, and the lady next to her got really irritated. That is the reason for confiscating canes before the games begin. I came home thoroughly exhausted, but I think those folks could have gone on until the wee hours of the night.
We used to have special senior nights in our village hall. Everything would go well until the bingo session got under way. They had to be cancelled as the crowd was so argumentative and one lady actually pulled out a clump of hair when another won 'full house' before she got all her numbers. Beware of pensioners they're dangerous creatures!!
