Just spent 2 hours spraying roundup. Tough call on some of the plants sprayed. Nothing spectacular to see, yet. Just a few pics.

Planting a southern magnolia is OK. But to have 4 naturally occurring on your property is awesome.

Acer rubrum. (red maple). These seedlings came up in my beds at home and in 30 yrs. should be spectacular.

That Quercus nigra ain't no baby. I'm gonna go with 80'+ height.

    Lots of room to plant.

I planted about 10 buckeyes in front of the s. mags.

And Cercis canadensis (redbud) that came up in my beds.

This area will be my agave area.

    Aralia spinosa from my yard.

    Oh yeah!

And when I got home, Buck drank all my Perrier water.

You certainly have a good start already. Do you have a vision for the finished project... or do you just "go with the flow"?

A general overall 'vision' but I 'go with the flow'.

BL, everything looks healthy and coming right along. Can't wait to see some other pics of the stuff you plant. I too always have a plan, but I think you need to go with the flow because plans change, right?!! Love the magnolia! And Buck is adorable.

Your property already looks great and I love seeing photographs of what you are doing and what planting you have.
I have two magnolia but neither naturally occurred but were bought from garden centres.

Buck obviously has good taste - who wants tap water when they can have Perrier!! ;)
