    Hi everyone,
A few weeks ago I got some telegraph plant seeds from Cook's Carnivorous Plants. I soaked them in water for 12 hours and then planted them in a 1/1 peat/perlite mixture. They havent germinated yet; they should have a few days ago. Obviously it doesnt look like my method is working. Do any of you grow this plant? If so, how do you grow it? How did you germinate the seeds?

    Thank you,

    Aaron

    Hi there.

As far as I know the seeds of the telegraph plant need to be scarified before soaking them for the 12 hours Aaron. You then have to plant them at a depth of 3/8" using a soil mix with 10% coarse sand added to it. They have to be kept warm at all times. They also need to be kept damp (but not wet) and in bright light. Although germination is usually within 10 days sometimes it can take longer for the seedlings to emerge if the conditions aren't quite right. Maybe a heat lamp trained on them would help them to break the surface of the soil???
You could maybe try getting in touch with Cook's either by e.mail or telephone and ask them for advice as they supplied the seeds and should be able to help you out.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Cook's emailed me back and they pretty much said the same thing except they didnt say anything about scarifying. If I were to, how should I scarify the seed?
