I have received a job offer. A good one. In OKC. I wasn't looking. Someone I used to work for, called out of the blue. Anybody got anything?
They seem to get a lot of tornadoes and it is part of what is called "tornado alley". I like Ohio. My BIL lives in Tulsa. They seem to like it there. the weather is more moderate and his asthma doesn't bother him there.
http://www.tornadochaser.net/tornalley.html will show you what parts of the US that Tornado Alley covers. Although some states outside this area have reported tornadoes, those are not usually a regular or often repeated occurrence. Looks like a good portion of Ohio is also included in that area. Oklahoma City gets a bad reputation because NOAA defines the Oklahoma City area as a 600 square miles in size and includes many other smaller cities and rural areas and any tornado that touches down in the area is reported as having been OKC area tornado. If you look at the actual number of hits in the OKC metro area, those are much less. We went up the OKC metro area for vacation several years ago and found it a nice place. They do have the wonderful http://www.nationalcowboymuseum.org/ and of course the http://www.oklahomacitynationalmemorial.org/index.php is a must visit. Winters there are colder than here but probably on a par with Ohio and they have more rain than we do.
