We have seven long days coming up starting on Friday. The one Friday is for the truck. It's three month or 3,000 mile checkup. It needed to be done before we spend any more time on the road. Saturday, no farm market for us. A PET scan. It's two hours long with a lot of diet restrictions before and what you can and cannot wear, etch. We'll have to leave here by ten am and not get back until about 4 pm. It's about an hour and ten minutes unless traffic is bad. I've never went to Bryan on a Saturday. Then, Sunday off. Monday and Wednesday and Thursday back to Bryan/College Station Medican Center for more tests. It's 50 to 60 miles one way and I don't drive really fast like some drivers. That's why it takes me an hour or more to get there. Some tests will be speedy but Monday and Thursday will be long ones again. I'll need a week off to recover I think. After that our son is coming with his wife and kids for our anniversary and that will be a good thing. I'll see the oncologist again after they go home. I didn't want to have an appointment while they were here and miss out on anything in their visit. There's time enough for doctors anyway. dooley
Doesn't it seem like once they get started on testing you they come up with everything in the world to test. Hope you pass (in a good way) them all with flying colors.
Busy, busy, busy, goodness, you one busy bee. Good luck with the tests. You need a week where you don't have to do anything but vegetate. Jerry
Weeks like that can be a real trial can't they? I suppose it's better to get everything done in the one week than have them spread all over the place though. :-? It would have been great if there'd been someone in Bryan that you could have stayed with to save on all the travelling. I'll keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you. Take care whilst driving as there are some real idiots on the roads these days.
Good Luck :-D Enjoy your time with the family How long will they stay with you? Have they been to your Texas home yet?
My goodness, Dooley--that sounds a very busy schedule indeed. by the end of it all, you will be sick and tired of tests, I reckon. Too bad you had to miss the market day. Do you have more than one market a week there? Hang in there, and good luck with all those tests.
Wow Dooley that sounds like one exhausting week. I will also be keeping you in my prayers for a great test results and everything is negative. Sincerly, Tooty
Well, I totally missed this post and by now, all the tests have been completed, so I am hoping the grades were all A+, Dooley.....
One down and 4 to go. The PET scan today was not as long or as scary as they made it sound. We were there at 11 am and out by one. We went and had lunch and was home by three. I'm kind of tired and thought of a nap but it's a bit late so an early night is called for. Monday, it's a Bone Scan. You get an injection and wait three hours and then have the scan. dr said the injection today and the one Monday will make me glow in the dark. But, it's just low levels so there's no worry there. I had more when I had radiation on my thyroid and I didn't glow. dooley
For the record, dooley has always been my golden girl so a little extra glow now and then is to be expected. dr
