You can see these wildflowers all over this part of Texas. Along roads, in yards, in fields. They generally get cut down. There's a stretch of road (probably a mile or two) going to my brother's house where it's a "no mow zone". Nothing but native grasses and wildflowers. It's soooooo pretty!
A couple of months ago the road sides were covered with Texas Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, Evening Primrose and Wine Cup. Now you find mostly Gaillardia pulchella (Indian Blanket), Rudbeckia triloba (Brown-eyed Susan). Rudbeckia triloba is what Dooley is showing.
