I am late posting this and I am very ashamed that I am. Thanks to all our members and visitors who are Veterans who served to protect your country, whichever country you live in. Thanks to those who are serving in the armed forces at this time, whichever country you live in.
Yes, I wonder how many young people really know what this holiday is about. Capt. Kirk is probably having a busy day today. Dan's new son was in a parade with CAP today. He does color guard with them. That's Civil Air Patrol. He's been doing that for about a year and a half now. dooley
Thanks to all Veterans everywhere that are currently serving or have served their country. You are making great sacrifices that we all appreciate more than you know. Thank you and may God bless each of you.
I would like to add my thanks too. So to all those who have fought, are fighting and will fight for their countries we are eternally grateful to you all.
As a Veteran I would like to thank you for your well wishes. I was in a war that the veterans weren't always made welcome home, nor did we feel that our service was appreciated. I have to admit that when someone thanks me for my service, it still surprises me and comes as a bit of a shock. But I am slowly getting over it. I wasn't so busy today but was on last Thurs., Fri, and Sat. The only thing I did today was to exercise at the hospitals Health Center. I am a member, but usually exercise on Mon, Wed and Fri. Today they had a special thing going on for veterans. If a veteran member exercised today they got a months free exercise. That's worth $35, kinda hard to pass that up. You will never really know how much your thanks means to the vets! So again I say thank you.
I watched a time team programme last night ( excavation programme )and they were excavating a world war one bunker and I was saying to my mum today I just cant imnagine what it was like for the troops living and fighting in the first and second world war, I am too young to have experienced living through them and my total admiration goes out to those who fought for us both on the battle fields and those at home keeping the country going, thanak you, thank you, you will never be forgotten.
I'd also like to offer my thanks to veterans and serving personnel all over the world. I'm hoping that some day we won't be needing any troops anywhere.
Your very welcome Toni, if I was the boss, I'd let all the vets have the day off, even if they served during one of those rare times when there wasn't a war, like me. This holiday needs something special.
I would like to say thank you Toni on behave of my son who is in Iraq. Hopefully he will be back in the states in Feb. His 15 month tour will be over then. It means alot to us parents all over that our children are still remembered. Thank you to all the vets who came before Josh and those who will come after him.
