I know we have at least three Stew members who are Veterans....Capt Kirk, Richard and Shearai. Biita's son is Army, Song of Joy's Dad, Glenda's husband, Zuzu's Dad and Husband and my Daddy. I don't know how many other Veterans or relatives of Veterans we have in our worldwide list of members but we all owe them a lot for their service whether they served during war or peace time and regardless of what their duties were.

    THANK YOU VETERANS

Being a 22 year veteran, thank you for remembering. But I would also ask you to thank the families of veterans. The wives, children and parents. They are the ones who also served, but did not draw a pay check. They kept the home fires burning for those of us that were gone off in the service of our country.
Our Legion post is the major sponsor of the Military Family Support Group, in our county. They have monthly meetings of spouses, parents and other members of military families. It provides a place were they can talk and help others in their unique situation. They can get answers to questions, or find out what to do or where to go to get those answers. They also put together care packages to go to all troops stationed away from home. They send these out at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. If you have such a group near you, get involved. I am sure they could use your help in putting these boxes together or donating items to go into the boxes. Here they set up at a grocery store and pass out lists of items needed. Then the people purchase them and drop them off on their way out. For thanksgiving we had enough items donated to fill over 100 boxes. And a business stepped forward to donate the cost of postage.
