The grocery store is a treasure-trove of useful items that can be re-used. Recently on a visit to see Donna(DonnaS), my wife and I were introduced to a tea made by a company in Arizona. We purchased some when we returned home. The plastic bottle was really thick and like the Timex watch, could take a licking and keep on ticking. Hmmm….when was the last time you heard that one? Anyway it will provide years of heavy duty usage. The bottle ( photo / image / picture from Jerry Sullivan's Garden ) But only if you do not conduct experiments like my first extreme stress test. Driveway test ( photo / image / picture from Jerry Sullivan's Garden ) No, that is not tea in the driveway, it's water. We do have other bottles that will receive better treatment and live long, useful lives as recycled containers not spilling their insides all over the driveway. Jerry
The next test will have more realistic parameters, a drop from waist high on the lawn. Something that has more probability, like being pushed off my portable plant cart. jerry
As a youngster I was amply supplied with experimental paraphernalia. As long as I destroyed my own room, and left everything else alone. Peace prevailed. Jerry
Jerry, you sound like my sons and my brother... I do remember my kitchen being splattered with DS2's blood when he was trying out wood carving with homemade tools... He hit an artery. I have no idea how many emergency room visits I made with them over experiments, accidents, sibbling rivalry and other childhood mishaps. DS3 made his own laser and operated on our blind cat's eyes without my knowledge until afterward. She was able to see for a time after that.
