    Good Day from West Virginia,
    My Fellow Gardeners,
Not all of us in Wv are great at gardening and about the house projects, but I had a great crop of deer this year!
Keep in mind, I know the deer were here long before I arrived, and I don't mind sharing a little with them, but those rascals didn't share any with me!! If anyone has any tips on what REALLY works, short of Winchester deer removal, I am very open to your suggestions. I have fenced, sprayed, hung out soap, dog hair, people hair, and all manner of smelly stuff from our local farm store and it all had the same effect. It kept my wife and four kids out of the garden and my dog barks at me every time I come up from the garden. Must be the smelly stuff on me.

What we did was put up our three foot wire fence and then we bought that orange plastic construction fencing and put it up around the wire fence. We saw deer in the yard and pasture but they never went near the garden. Why? I don't know. Maybe it confused them. dooley

All the remedies you listed might work for just a little while, but the deer get used to it. They're not stupid. :D High fencing or electrical fences has proven to be the best remedy for us. Good luck.
