I've tried to get a decent photo of a kingfisher. He has a wire perch acroos the whole sea entrance into the lagoon as the tide goes back and forth. For my last three trips down there I have managed a few shots and today I got closer than before but it is still a decent way off. Anyway, this is the best effort so far. The male is the dull one, the only male bird that is outshone by the female. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
Love your photos! That is a handsome Kingfisher. We have one that comes to the pond, but we've never gotten close enough for even a bad photo!
It took me years to get a good shot of one of our kingfishers. I applaud your patience and your photographic skills. Well done!! :-D
I'll have to look out for the female now. Have had a good winter for birds with those mergansers and the pelican and now the kinfisher, oh, I forgot the ruddy duck, that was a first sighting.
