    Hiyah,

I haven't been on the forums so much these past few days because I have had vacation to clean-up the lotties. I almost got finished too. :D it was just a case of being very tired in the evenings.

Several weeks ago I had ordered a particular sort of blueberry bush from a mail-order company here in Holland. When it comes to bushes and flowering plants
I prefer to see and inspect each one that I buy, but these types were not available around where I live here in West-Friesland, so I went the mail-order route this time.

I was very disappointed to get a tiny example in the mail one day that was 23cm's tall and the advertised size was 30-40 cm, as I recall. The specimen had onlt three tiny twigs to make it even more absurd. So I sent them a letter telling them that I was not pleased and not accustomed to receiving such poor plants from them.

About two weeks later a box arrived, but no written message in the box or in the e-mail box on the compi.
Below you can see the first and second plantlets. The second plant was not that much taller than the first, but there were many more branches. We sent off a letter immediately thanking them for the new plant.
I have to see if these two miniscule plantlets ever mature into anything productive, but I gave them every chance.
My partner got the idea to extend the örchard", so her word was final being the non-flowering chef. We dug up a path and some additional ground to accomodate the plants. I was going to put a gate in the place for the transport of wheel barrows full of manure and compost. I shall have to choose another location now. No matter, I do not have an old palet yet to use as a gate, so there's no harm done.
Keep your fingers crossed for these little babies.

The first plant is on the right, the second is on the left in the clematis pot.

Here, the dug-up path and extra ground. The holes are ready to receive the plants.

All planted now and ready to grow. I hope they like it there. There is a third plant that I ordered from a different place in there as well.

Well they may be small Sjoerd but they at least look healthy enough thank goodness. I'm sure that with a little TLC and some good feeding they'll romp away and produce a multitude of berries for you.

Just as an aside I ordered two Japanese maple trees for the front garden and they were supposed to be 50-60 cms tall. They are tiny (no more than 20cms) with hardly any side shoots and the company I got them from WON'T replace them for me as they are alive!!! :( It's nice to hear that some companies still care about their customers.

Good luck with your babies, I'm sure they'll grow and produce for you, but I guess it takes more time now.

I recently complained to a mail order company too. They were very service minded and immediately refunded my money.

    Thanks folks.
They got rained-on the evening that I planted them, so that´s a good omen. Hopefully in a couple of years they will be producing fruit. We´ll see.
