and today I can see better than I have been able to for years. I've been using my left eye the most for reading and such since it was not as occluded as the right. Wow what a difference in vision between the eyes! The left eye is probably only 60% of what the right eye is now, and I thought it was in decent shape! Off for the post-op check up, and to see when the left gets done. I was pretty sad to be so apprehensive about something that turned out to be so simple.
Great news! I know a dear lady that had cataract surgery about 30 days ago (not sure about the lens part) She is THRILLED with the outcome!!! Said she wishes she'd have done it sooner!!! Take care of those peepers!!! 8)
FBG, I'm so happy your surgery turned out so well for you! Don't be sad about being apprehensive--anyone would be, facing any kind of surgery. Tell your doctor he did well by you, and there won't be a posse of Stewies at his doorstep to make sure all goes well!
Great! We are all glad it was much better than you anticipated. Now you will enjoy the gardening much more next year than you did this year. It's been raining for the entire Fall now. It should be a better season next year.
Glad it went well. I have heard that colors are brighter and everything looks much clearer. I have heard that it was nothing like they feared....mine aren't ready yet and I am definitely not ready for them to be ready either.
If you think the change in the one eye was so big, wait until you get the other eye done. With both of them being at 100%, you will wonder why you waited!
Thanks everyone. I'm supposed to have the left eye done in middle November. I know that my employer isn't the happiest company in the world about it. I'll be on light duty, no driving for quite a while. I've attempted to talk my eye Doc into letting me back to driving earlier than he would like. He said he's used to having people ask him to keep them off work longer. I do know that Waste Management would rather have me on light duty than FMLA. It saves them money somehow or another. Yet, they don't want me on light duty either. They just want me back to work ASAP.
If you can hear me FBG I'm singing "I can see clearly now" for you. Take time off and enjoy your light duty and I'm sure that right eye of yours really do need the break!
I am glad your surgery went well, and your vision is much improved. It was quite a relief for me when I had mine done too. Mine were like trying to see through a jug of milk, and always the feeling something was in my eyes. Note: I still see the halos around lights at night, and have poor night vision. Otherwise, my eyes are great. I don't know what other people have experienced with their vision.
I go get new glasses in 6 weeks. So down the road will surgery.Every one who has had it-said wish they would have done it long time ago.
I had no idea how poor my eyesight had become. The only pain from the surgery, is in the wallet! Have it done as soon as you are able. You won't regret it.
I had both eyes done 2 1/2 years ago and have no problems with the far vision. I still need reading glasses. I use bifocals with clear glass above. If I just use reading glasses, I get headaches, but not with bifocals.
