This is my back garden. It is the first one I made when I moved in here 4 years ago. It has gotten completely out of control!

Even the gazing ball is being swallowed up!

Every spring I'm determined to tame this jungle and somehow it never really gets done. I just don't have the heart to remove all the volunteers unless I have another home for them. There are things popping out of every nook and cranny!

I never water this garden and even with the drought conditions it seems to be thriving. How can I remove things that are so determined to live here?
    Ah, there's always next year...

I love the look of that type of garden, Netty. Don't think you should do a thing, except maybe create another one or two just like it.

Oh if only I lived closer Netty, I'd help you tame it and take those volunteer's off your hands. I too think it is lovely just as it is.

Don't change a thing as it's a beautiful garden just the way it is Netty. :-D

It's beautiful! I have to struggle daily to get my stuff to even live and grow. Count yourself lucky and now you have time for a craft or something since the garden is fine!

That is not a chaotic garden in my eyes. Keep it as it is, because that's the way it wants to be.

Netty, that is just beautiful. When I look at someone's yard and they have a few plants and then a great deal of empty mulched space I think "How Sad." Your's is bursting at the seams with SUCCESS. :-D

Netty...I'm trying to get what you have in my mulch beds.
I read somewhere that you should have only one color in your mulch bed to not confuse the eye....I thought how boring would that be. I want a rainbow in my yard!!
With hardwork, time, and the help of my nephew inlaw (greenhouse manager) I'll get there.

It looks great Netty. That is how most of my beds look. The fuller they are the easier I think they are to maintain since there is less room for the weeds. Don't change a thing about it.

I'm green with envy, too! I think those plants are just in-love with you. You can't fault em' for it. I would like to see some on the seed exchange forum though!

Wonderful! Just pop that gazing ball up on a pedestal and you're well set for loveliness.

Actually, the gazing ball is sitting on an old bird bath pedestal. The Phlox has gone crazy and is covering it up!
Patience Lexxivexx - I'm collecting seeds to put into the seed exchange!

Could you put a few yards of your soil in there too? OK, I'll put my pouty lip back where it belongs. I'd So Love a cottage garden like yours, but it's awfully nice to enjoy the pictures anyway!
