These are made of glass globes that were salvaged from old lamps. Each one is between 3 and 4 ft tall and has a length of cable lights up the center. They are a rather "unique" roll: not to say "weird") light source. My husband crafted the copper superstructures which, I think, add an artful touch, as well as much needed stability. This photo shows how they look with the other decorative elements in the courtyard.
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE THEM. I am going to try to find some an see if I can make them too. Do you glue them together or wire or???
Thanks, glad you like 'em. They are a fun way to re-purpose those old lamps from the resale shops, which, by the way, have become harder to find and a lot more expensive recently, apparently they are now "vintage" rather than "old", dang it!! G'Fan ~ Yes, the pieces of glass are attached to each other with silicone caulk.
Just great Zuzu Looks like you have more in common with some of us than you think: http://www.gardenstew.com/about2020.html Anyone would be happy to have those in their yard.
Really classy junk ZuZu. I could kick my butt for not buying 2 "vintage" lamps" when I first got into junking. They were amber and $3 each. Each one had 2 glass globes, one round and one oblong. Oh well!! Thanks for posting yours they are lovely.
Me like, especially the combination of amber and green. 8) We just found a new junk place and are going this weekend.
Aww, thanks everyone, I appreciate your kind words Happy hunting, Bethie, I can't wait to see what you find and what wonderful thing you do with it.
