Okay... so the veggies have been nice to have.
But I've been waiting and waiting for my favorite thing they planted to start ripening! Cantaloupes! Yummmmmmmmmmmy!

I put one in the 'fridge last night so it could be nice & cold for breakfast (plus I wanted to get a photo of it once it was cut open). Well... hubby beat me to it. Before I knew it he had cut it and was munching away.
I did manage to get a photo of the second half (before I devoured it!)

There's still quite a few growing... but if cousin wants some, he'd better come get them soon!

Those look better than what we get in the store here. Of course, that shouldn't be a surprise. Very nice, Cheryl!

In a minority I am....oh well. Since i was knee high to a grasshopper I have avoided cantaloupe. There are few things my nose rejects outright, cantaloupe tops the list. My father once said I did not know what I was missing. O.K. I said and I ate a quarter of one. While I did not die from the experience I could now tell him I tried one and I didn't like it. Today whenever there is fresh cantaloupe in the produce aisle I know as soon as I enter the store. Shopping is done in record time. I have no clue as to why something others find so tantalizing my nose finds so offensive. I will pass on the cantaloupe and let others enjoy them. My nose is a lot happier.

Jerry, that is just plain funny, but you know, if we all liked/disliked the same things wouldn't we be boring. and how would you ever be able to surprise someone with a gift that way. you would know exactly what you would be getting. How BORING! and you leave more for the ones who really like it. :D

What a lovely-looking fruit. I really do have a weakness for those, and the way your piccy looks, I get the idea that I could just take a bite out of it.
    Well done.
Gosh, I wish that I could grow those.

Jerry... it's okay that you don't like them.
But I have to admit, I do believe you are the first person I've ever known that truly disliked cantaloupes.
Oh well.... more for me! :D
Hmmmm... dessert/bedtime snack. Marble cake or cantaloupe???

Yummy! We can get them in the shops but will need a greenhouse to grow them. I imagine yours taste a lot better than the ones we get.
