They come up to the feeder and drink, then they tilt their head back so they can swallow the food. But to watch them, it looks like they are looking at the bottle to see how much it went down! Cracks me up every time!
Entertaining the are as they fly, hover or just plain feed, hummers should be a must in every garden. Our local flower flitters prefer red Salvia. Some of the first to be planted to attract our local population. Jerry
I'm sitting watching them now. Got feeders so can watch at all windows. And not afraid of me when I work outside. Talk softly to them. Reminds me to make more sugar water.
