    It was a fun place to visit. The northern part of Arizona is filled with very interesting geological and anthropological parks. I had no idea before our drive and visit through the area a few years ago. It was initially to see the petrified forest but we discovered so much within a few hours drive around Flagstaff. The mesa villages and volcanic lava flows were incredible.

    your post brought back memories of a great trip with many surprises to find in this area.
