Today I've been to my snow-covered garden. My son and me were sitting near the warm wall, having a cup of tea and suddenly clash! A big, thick icicle fell down from the roof! I think it was the last. The roof was cleaned off the snow. Then I fed the titmouses, they love the nuts. Good thing the icicle didn't hit you on the head! What a cute little bird. They must really trust you to eat out of your hand. That's neat!
It must be thrilling to have birds land on your hand to feed. I would have to take down the feeders to get them to do that. Jerry
those icicles can be dangerous...glad you were inside when it let loose...funny..this year we didn't have any of the usual winter problems like icicles on the eaves...very weird for my area.
Nadezda I have always wanted to feed out winter birds out of my hand. That is a great pic and what a cute bird. Our titmouses look really bland next to the ones you have where you live.
oh how sweet I have held a baby hummer before it got stuck in something and got it loose and it kept coming back and talking to me all summer guess it was thanking me for saving it
I, too, am glad that no one got hit with that icicle. Our winter was rather mild, but so many people are still unemployed or underemployed, and one of our largest power providers did across-the board increases in fees, that it was a blessing that we did not have much of a winter. The titmouse is so cute. It is amazing how you can feed him out of your hand! :-D
The big icicle Yes, I was lucky, the icicle didn't hit me. The birds trust the people who often feed them, may be they know us by sight?
