Most of you know that I spent 22 years in the US Navy. I worked on the A6A Intruder air craft for 12 years. This is the last shipboard launch of the last A6 in Naval history. A great aircraft to work on. Everything was normally easy to work on and didn't break very often.
This is one of two air craft that could carry it's own weight of ordinance. The other was a propellar air craft that was in use in WWII and in Korea. It was also used a little in Viet Nam. The A6 was the first air craft with an onboard computer.
You'd think they could still come up with a use for such a marvelous airplane. Thanks for showing us this.
