The Laughing Gnome

In 1973 the music legend David Bowie recorded a song called "The Laughing Gnome". It is probably the only song of his that he refuses to perform to this day. When you hear the song you will know why:

I like Fred the metra-gnome. That is hilarious, do you think David Bowie was smoking the same thing when he wrote that as when he named his son Zowie?
