I actually had a real good rest yesterday because the contractor was unable to start on the renovation yet. Most of the immediate must do job is done and now is just the odd and ends. There are still lots of stuff to throw out or send to the recycling. The garden is now cleared of all trees to make space for my new mini farm. I did the clearing myself for a couple of days with just a machete and hoe before I hurt myself from a falling leave. This doesn't sound right let me try again. OK the Traveler Plam was huge because it was growing wild. Cutting its leaves and catching it with bare hands is a big NO! NO! and that was what I did and that ended my career as a tree cutter. Since space is a luxury for us now, we decided to clear the very limited garden space of all trees. We got a professional to do it after I hurt myself and it took them just about 4 hours to do it including carting away the mess. I wonder how long if I had been stubborn and insist on doing it all by myself Now the weeds are happy and I am not. The craziness part is about to start that is when the contractor start work on the renovation part. Lots of dust and noise and it is going to take awhile ... a quick while I hope!
Ouch regarding the palm leaf KK. I saw some of these during my time in Malaysia and I wouldn't be rushing to catch one either. Wishing you continued best wishes!

Mate, that sounds dangerous! Did your injury require sutures? I have seen that sort of palm in many countries and I find it such a lovely thing. It is so different from the other palm sorts. I always thought that they looked like fans. Beautiful things.
Thank goodness you didn't continue to cut the trees down by yourself. I hope your hand heals quickly and that the renovations don't take too long. It'll all be worth it in the end it's just the getting there that can be a real pain.
Thanks all, I wasn't badly hurt just some skin being scrape off my right wrist, minor cuts on all my right hand fingers. It is healing properly and I should be able to use them normally in no time. Thanks Frank I guess I wasn't thinking. Yes it is fun Cherylad to see the space open up and images of veggies in my mind being planted here and there. Before that it was just like in a dense forest!!! Thanks Sjoerd, no, no suture was required just a few plaster and some antiseptic did the job. The sight of the blood coming out was unpleasant. Yes those palms are beautiful for a large garden but not in a small confine space. You are right Eileen, getting there is a pain and once arrived it will be comfort pleasure all the way. :-D Thanks Netty, I'll try to get some photos in real soon err ... have to look for the camera. Koszta Kid definitely there will be photo soon. Cutting down a huge maple tree is a big job. I think my machete compared to the maple tree is just like a pen knife. Do take care ya!
