Just got home from another of our beautiful state parks: lot's of dense forest, shade from hot sun Lake Buck & Doe Swamp [/img]
Lovely landscape, and lovely deer. Your lake looks a lot like our lakes further south, but I guess the temps are quite different. That grey on the trees, is it lichen?
Correct Spanish Moss a nasty air plant, that actually kills the trees over time, I spray my trees with liquid copper to get rid of this nasty fungus..oh and the lake is loaded with Gators!
Thanks, but we spent a week in our Rv here.. between 2 big cities Ocala & Gainsville, this prk. is 22,000 acres of praire, swamp, lakes & forest, there's a herd of bison, wild cattle and wild horses that roam the praire, deer, squirrels, armadillo etc. in the forest, and gators and other reptile in the lakes..
Thanks for the wander through Florida's swamps. I never got there in the 15 years residence there. Did come in contact with some gators though. Gardengater
No but, lake is full of them, we've seen so many used to seeing them in 28 yrs. of living here, with lakes in our own neighborhood..
That Tillandsia usneoides makes anything look good, doesn't it. Romantic stuff. These are very nice landscape and wildlife fotos as well. Thanks for posting some fotos of a park area there. They are so nice to see. It gives me sort of a feel for what it's like there.
Nice pics. I especially like the lake pics. Everytime we're in FL my DH reminds me not to get too close to the waters there. Too many things to watch for I think. I worked for a company here in ME that had an office in Ocala. It's gone under now though. My DH went to Gainesville, he's a gator! Thanks for sharing.
SuzyQ I am in North FLorida and that looks a lot like the forest over by Lake City Community College. Where are you at in Florida?
I live in SW Florida,28 yrs. however we travel in our motor home and are visiting and re-visiting our beautiful state parks, one each month for a week, this last one was Paynes Praire between Ocala and Gainsville.
