I took a few other flowers around the yard today, too.
A spiderwort. It's in a pot near the back door.

A poppy growing all by itself in a bed in the back yard.

a micro shot of the same poppy

Some Mexican primrose down in the lower yard.

and the little mimosa tree that I grew from a seed. How big do you think it needs to be before I plant it in the ground?

    That's it for today. dooley

Lovely blooms. I like the blue spiderworth best. Good luck with planting your tree. It's so delicate looking.

A nice group of flowers again, Dooley. I'm sort of interested in that mimosa tree. How old is this seedling?
How fast DO they grow, Glenda?

This is the second year for this one. You can grow them from seed. This one will have pink flowers. Gizmo sent me some seeds for yellow ones. I started them last year but something ate them when they were a couple inches high. They grow really fast. My neighbor has them in various stages up to 25 feet high. dooley

I have 3 mimosa trees that I grew from seed just this year. They're probably 2-3 inches tall. A big thankyou for those to Glenda.

Great shots Dooley. I love Spiderwort but they tend to get gangly after they bloom.
I stopped to pick up a Mimosa for my babysitter today for a Mothers Day gift and they were only an inch tall. If they grow quickly I'll stop back in a few weeks. I bought her a Maltese Cross instead...I knew she didn't have any.
