I hadn't done much latch-hooking over the years, just one small piece more than 30 years ago. I saw this in a catalog and just new Randy would like it for his side of our bed. It isn't finished yet, the hooking is all done but unorganized me didn't think to order the binding and non-slip backing goop until after I finished it. That was only about 2 days before Christmas, so of course every online hooking supplier was out of both items. Are you sure you want it on the floor? It is just beautiful, I would hang it on the wall in a prominent spot. Very nice, bet he just loved it.

What a thoughtful gift, Toni. I like having a rug to step onto when I hop out of bed in the morning...This a a REALLY nice one. It looks like it was alot of work. Good luck in getting those remaining supplies.
Thanks for all the kinds words, I am really pleased with how it turned out. I really had Randy wondering what I was making when I closed myself off in my craft room for hours on end. He thought I was knitting him something and when I told him that were 150 parts and each part took 20 minutes to do, you could almost see his imagination grinding to a halt trying to figure out what I was knitting that would require 150 balls of yarn. The rug is hooked by rows, short end to short end, and there are 150 rows. Three rows per hour took a total of 50 hours to complete. With other things having to be done too I got behind on it in late October and found myself working at least three hours each day on it to get it done in time. But I really enjoyed making it and he was totally surprised and happy with it.
So pretty. I have done a few small ones. I just folded the edges over and sewed it into the back, But like I said, they were much smaller ones. These are a fun winter project to work on. You did a good job.
I did a little rug hooking about thirty years ago too. Haven't seen the little kits sold for a long time. I never did finish the rug, but did get a pillow finished. Very pretty.
