Ned and I went to The Great Smoky Mountain National Park over the weekend. It is so unbelievably beautiful in the Smokies right now....so many gorgeous vistas!! Here are just a few photos....I took well over 100, edited that down to about 60, then posted about 20 of them on Facebook... MAN!!! So hard to choose what to post there and here! Sitting in rocking chairs on the front porch of the traveler's info place just before heading into the park. A bit quirky Lichen close up Majestic! Those little purple flowers are so delicate! Beautiful color Loved the drama of this one So peaceful Nothing touristy...we stayed away from the main drags. At one point we found a side road and followed it for a bit...found a small space to pull off the road that was at the edge of the brook. We sat with the windows open and just listened.......the water running over the rocks, the breeze sighing in the trees, nature sounds...it was one of the most purely peaceful moments I've had for a long time.
What a gorgeous area. And great pictures that I keep looking at again and again. I'd love to just sit by that brook for hours.
What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy what nature has provided. I like the picture of you in the wing mirror taking the 'photo!! I think I'd love it there if only it were possible for me to see it for myself.
Beautiful shots Ronni! I love so much to see member's photos from so many idyllic corners of the world.
Thanks guys. It was such a lovely place, and I felt so renewed and refreshed after being there. I wanted to add one more image....it's another shot of those delicate flowers, but up closer this time....I found them particularly appealing in the midst of all the burly tree trunks.
Beautiful photos, I especially like #9 with the wood bridge rail. That flower appears to be a wild Aster, very pretty and common in wooded areas around where you live.
I klikked on "Like" under your story and the last foto close-up of that little purple flowering plant....but of course "like" doesn't really cover it, does it--I REALLY liked your story and foto's. Fall was a great time for such a journey wasn't it. There was water, there was colour there was lichen there was even a selfie!--Something for everyone. I have been to that park ( well, years ago now) but I found it quite impressive, no doubt partly because it is so different from here. I have just scrolled up and down and up and down and up and down your foto's. So lovely. I am chuffed to bits that you took the time to make some pics and then sort them out for on here. I know how difficult that can be. haha. I am going to close this now and then scroll up and down another few times.
One of my favorite places to visit. Unfortunately, we don't get there very often. Thanks for sharing.
