Poor, poor Ugly. Maybe if someone had been kinder to him while he was still alive he wouldn't have met the sad end he did. Some of the 'ugliest' animals are the best friends you will ever have. What does the outside matter when you have a heart of gold? RIP Ugly - at least you didn't die alone.

A heartbreaking story with a good moral in the end. Sad that someone did not recognize this before his death.

That story broke my heart and made me sad for animals (and people) who are Uglies... I hope I don't overlook one of them some day. Poor Ugly. I learned something from his sad story.

What a very sad story Frank .It broke my heart. Some people can be so cruel to animals that really need a loving hand and hardly ever get one.Thank you Frank for such a wonderful heart warming story. He did die in loving arms.
Cheyenne's cat Smokey would fit this description .He was a beautiful fuzzy kitten. He now has one eye and a hole for the other .He is so badly beat up and looks so old .He does have a tail :rolleyes:I do wonder how he managed to keep that. I still love him and he loves me.Everyone else pushes him away.I will take care of him for Cheyenne as long as I breath or he looses his last Tom Cat battle.I worry about him now that I'm not there.

    So sad
I am blinking away the tears.
ANd to think that a lot of the stray cats here have those characteristics made me even more sad.
I am just grateful that Ugly did not die alone.
I will share this story with others around me. Maybe they also get touched in a good way and change their attitudes towards the Uglies around here.
