The seed packets said 1984, 29 years ago. Will some germinate? Time will tell. The seeds spent the night with water in petri dishes. The next morning they were unceremoniously dumped into a large tray of soil, to be covered with garden seedling dust. Sink or swim they are on their own. They are however safe from the tray sniffers that like to hop up on the tray and sniff for lunch. Their telltale signs of excavations rearranging the status quo. Out of several hundred seeds it will be interesting to see which seeds if any pop up first. Out of the 15 seed packets 7 were in hermetically sealed pouches. Did the pouch maintain some moisture content? Did they survive the ravages of time? Well there are some types of cacti seeds that can survive for hundreds of years and remain valid so who knows Jerry. I love experiments like this and waiting to see what, if anything, happens. I'll be keeping my fingers tightly crossed that some of those seeds germinate for you.
If you keep these in that container and they begin to grow you may need to use one of those mini tractors to work the ground. They should fit between the rows.
