    Hi there everyone. :D

Well it looks as though (at long last) I have a computer that is doing everything that it should do. :-D Keep your fingers tightly crossed that it stays that way for me please.
I've just spent all day downloading and backing-up but at last it's all done and dusted. My back is aching, my head is pounding but I'm here and it was worth all the effort just to see my favourite site appear on the screen.

We've had a few disasters here - nothing to do with the new computer, thank heavens, but more of that later.

WELCOME to all the new members who have joined the forums since I was last here. I look forward to getting to know you all soon. :stew2:

Ahhh it is sooooo lovely to be home again with you all. :stew1:

Boy, oh boy!...It's great to have you back, Eileen. Lets'hope that your compi does it like it's supposed to. I have all my fingers crossed, cos we don't want to take a chance of having you disappear again. ;)

I spekt that you have lots of reading to catch-up on, don't you? Well good luck with that...perhaps you ought to do that another day, it sounds like you've been sitting in front of that sceeen for some time now.

Ok then...take care and keep an eye on that compi.

Hi Eileen, great to see you back again. Hope the new computer works well for a long time, did they treat you fairly when you took the other one back?

Awwww thanks everybody - it's really great to be back. :D

Frank - yes it's another Vista computer. It's hard around here to get anything else but Vista nowadays!! Still as long as it keeps working I really don't mind. :)

Toni - after many 'phone clls to the manufactureres of the computer and doing as they said to no avail we finally parcelled it back up and returned it to the shop. The staff there were excellent and agreed with us that it was obviously a faulty motherboard. We had to wait to get a replacement as they didn't have another one in stock at the time. When it arrived they sent it out to us for free. :stew1:

I am glad that the computer headache is over and I hope it stays that way.
My headache is just starting - when I switched our pc on this morning - the hard drive is making strange chicking noises. I will probably just stew and then switch off again.

I hope your pc will be good for a long time coming.

Palm please please backup your most important files as soon as you can. Your hard drive could be dying and when that happens you can wave goodbye to your data. Sorry to scare you but when they start making strange noises that is the beginning of the end.
