Saturday 4/12, it reached 84F. Plants are finally coming out of dormancy after a slow, cold spring. Sunday, we had a strong thunderstorm blow through bringing 2.5" of chilly rain with strong winds. It was an ugly day, and the rain turned to snow in the evening. Today, it is cold and cloudy. Snow probably isn't going to melt quickly. snow cover in April ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) south side bed ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) My Forsythia ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) neighbor's Forsythia blooming in the snow ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Kay's Garden ) Not a good day for landscaping work. Guess I'll get caught up with paperwork and loose ends. My Gerbera daisies and Pansies that I bought for cheer, are tucked in the garage waiting for better days. These flowers are bringing a little spring into my home while I wait patiently for the weather to figure out what season it is!! I am about to live the same weather Kay. Today, it is going up to 20°C (68°F). Tomorrows temperature? -2°C (28.4°F) with SNOW!
Ugh I hear ya! Its 40º now, and theyre calling for colder and snow Old Man Winter needs to pack up and get out already!
I got a chill seeing the white stuff. What a contrast that forsythia is with the snow!--lovely, but discouraging. I wish you strength.
Yep...sounds like we are getting it too. Tomorrow night is to be 20f. :-x :'( . I will need to cover everything even in the high tunnels. Strawberries are just starting to bloom in there. I just planted out 75 or so, cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower. Bummer. Thankfully we have two heat sources for each of the greenhouses. My oh my! sigh sigh sigh!
