I finally found some get-up-and-go Friday last week. It was snowing hard, so of course I had to go outside and cut thuja for the (delayed) wreaths. It had to thaw out too since we had -7°C / 19°F during the night. Here's our wreath: Here's my neighbour's wreath: And since I cut way too much thuja I also made one for the stable door: I was merry until Monday evening when the temps suddenly started to rise and the snow melted away. One foot plus of snow disappeared in three days. Now we've had 13°C / 55°F for a couple of days. Today we had a nice, little storm with hurricane strength gusts and tomorrow we're in for colder weather without snow but maybe some sleet. Bye-bye Christmas cheer. I don't know if you'll be able to see this, but there are two funny films about the problems people had when trying to walk in town today, one on the top of the page and one near the bottom.: http://www.nrk.no/mr/sja-ivar-forsyne-seg-av-julegavene-1.11414367
Beautiful wreaths as always. Our ice is almost gone, still a couple of deep patches that don't get sun this time of the year but the temp will be up around 60 next week so it will all be gone then. I hope the papers that person lost weren't important, they will never find them again
Those are beautiful wreaths! Do I remember correctly that you make one for your neighbor each year? I'm sure it's greatly appreciated. Thank you for sharing them with us (but I'm not showing the stable's wreath to our hens--they'd want one, and I'm not as creative as you.)
Thanks toni. I'm so glad you're almost rid of the ice. Ice is no good unless you can skate on it. Probably not. The second film is a lot more fun. Thanks mg, yes I do. How clever of you to remember. Maybe your hens would appreciate an oat sheaf instead of a wreath?
Another year comes to an end and the Droopy Hiver Collection is unveiled. Oh là là...C'est Magnifique. Well dine, Droopy. Again you have made some really attractive wreaths, not only for yourself, but for frinds and horses alike. ---What a girl!
Now that's what I call an artistic flair Droopy as your thuja wreaths are really lovely. Your neighbours must be so proud of theirs knowing it was made especially for them. Loved the picture of the two people trying to fight against the wind. The one at the front looks as though they are about to take off.
Hi Droopy,..beautiful Wreaths,..i spotted some today in the Store but very plain and dull,..now if they looked like yours and your neighbor i would have bought them. Very funny links,..what a wind,..i woke Molly up with my laughter at the movements of those people
Thanks for the kind comments Sjoerd. ;D Maybe I should make my own label and stick it on those wreaths. eileen, thank you. The neighbours haven't told me they're going to buy their own wreath yet so I suppose they like mine. Philip, most of the wreaths in the stores here are also rather dull and uniform, which is why I prefer to make my own. At least it's unique. I'm glad you enjoyed the films. Poor Molly. Imagine having to hold on to the curb stone to stay on your feet. I admire that big policeman helping out. He looked like nothing could move him.
Thank you carolyn, Netty and cheryl. I'm so glad you all like them, it means a lot for my self-confidence.
