I have been mostly cleaning and planting in the flower garden lately, but there are some things beginning to bloom now. Most of my flowers are summer-bloomers, but there I do have some spring-bloomers too. I'll walk you through it: The Butterfly Bush Arch near the shed is a good place to start. I try and let these and other plots stay wild as long as they can when they're producing such colourful flowers as these Digitalis for instance. If you follow this path it takes you up to the rose arch, which I am thoroughly pleased with. It has taken about 4 years, but it's finally beginning to have the shape and abundance that I was trying to achieve. Their fragrance is something that no one passes without stopping. It is so nice. Here is a view of the front middle plot that was so bare just a few weks ago. These lovely Astrantias come back every year. These white Astrantia blooms are gigantic. I reckon that one must see them in person to fully appreciate them. A pale lavender-blue Scabiosa I enjoy seeing every year too. One of the Philadelphus shrubs that I put in this year. Their fragrence is sublime. The Honeysuckle Arch is alive with the unusually tinted yellow Loniceras. They have no fragrence, but they make up for that with thire richness of blooms and; as I said, the colour. This little plant found it's way here via the wind or thanks to a bird. I cannot recall it's name; but it is a protected plant here in Holland. How this Digitalis found it's way here, I'll never know. And finally this sweet little Lupin.
Your garden is a delight to see, wish I could walk in it! I love those blow-in plants. Isn't it funny how they pick the strangest places to grow?
Good Golly Gosh oh Gee what a gorgeous wonderland of beauty Sjoerd.Your garden makes mine look sick. You have a magical touch thats for sure.
I stand in awe. Simply wonderful, you are a natural gardener. Is the rose a Joseph's Coat, it is awesome. I love the little plant growing from the post, it looks like a Mazus Reptans, but my eyes are bad and I can see all the way to Holland. Thank you so much for sharing your little paradise with us.

Well Cajun, I looked up the Mazus Reptans...but that isn't it. the flowers are actually smaller than a pencil eraser and in the torm od a hanging lobelia. It's a lovely little thing.

I love the very first picture with the arch and the Roses and Digitalis...it just makes me want to walk thru that arch and see what other treasures are waiting to be discovered.
