    I can't say that I like jackdaws very much, but these pics do illustrate the bird well.
    We get great mobs of the beasts here that swarm over the lotties and if things are notr covered--they will decimate a patch in no time at all. Even nets will not help if they are not properly secured. They have learned to sit on nets in a group until they collapse.
    They are quite clever (in a negative way, if you are a gardener).

    There are only a few round here,but being big I can imagine they they'd do a lot of damage if they put their minds to it.

    When it comes to the food though they seem to be very wary and will fly off when the woodpigeons turn up.

    We haven't got those here, but we have some pretty inventive crows. :D It looks happy with the find. Our sparrows like to pick up horse hair to line their nests with. They're fun to watch.
