I brought 5 of these plants several years ago for across the decking in different colours but never again. I was cutting them this year and the bites I kept having was terrible, they were loaded with Aphids. So all 5 were removed and taken to the skip...I checked the rest of my plants to make sure they were ok.
Hello Carolyn...they were full of aphids but I used to get bitten also the last bite I had early this year did cause a bad swelling to the eye and I' d read that some aphids can bite humans that's why I had the plants removed Although most aphids feed on plants, some instances of aphids biting or piercing human skin have been reported, according to SciLogs. The bites of these aphids can cause a rash. One species known for attacking humans is the Ceratoglyphnia (Astero) styracicola, according to Entomological News.
Aphids can also bite human! This is something very new I am reading. We have to be careful from now onwards.
@Dante Pruitt welcome to GS and nice to have you with us Yes they can bite...my eye swelled badly and those 5 plants were soon removed
