They are all gone !

    Last Thurs. we had 50 or 60 Robins in the yard, trying to find something to eat. After last nights 1 1/2 inches of rain, they should have been out there again. But I haven't seen a single one. They must have been gathering last week for the trip south. It is a little early for them to here.

    It's always sad to see some of our favourite birds disappear to lands far away. Our swallows will be leaving soon and I'm going to miss them. :(

    Reports from fellow birdwatchers across Canada and the upper midwest say that birds are going to migrate earlier, and along different migratory paths, than in previous years. The drought has caused fewer ponds, less forage in corn and grain fields, and less cover than before.
    We are expecting an earlier arrival of some passerines and a different variety than we usually get.
    Sorry your robins are leaving, but keep your eye peeled for other birds, Captain.

    Yes it is sad to see them head off.Getting another steel trash can with lid to store sunflower seeds. To feed birds over winter.Last year last hummer was here Sept 15th. Right so many + many doves + finches
