One of the local Army National Guard units that hve been in Irag are coming home tomorrow. There is a big celebration set up for them. The streets will be lined from downtown all the way to the High School with people waving flags. Then when they get off the bus, there will be a walk of honor that will be lined with Veterans saluting them. And yes I will be there. Inside the school gym they will officially be released from activ duty and there families will join them. They have been gone for a year and did not lose anyone. This is a military police unit andthey have been taching the Iraqi police. We are very proud of our local unit.
Do try to take some photographs if you can CK as I'd love to see the celebration put on for these brave lads.
What a great celebration!! :-D When my brother in law came home it was beautiful. Very patriotic and a real sense of community. Made me very proud.
I'm so happy to hear they are now treating our boys coming home the way they should be treated. Capt.please take a few photos.
Well, I didn't go in to see them. Originally they were supposed to have it in the high school gym. But for some reason they changed it to the football field. Where there is not even any shade. They wanted the Vets to line the football field. This all happened at 1 pm when the thermometer was setting at 90 deg. F. with about 80% humidity. So I decided not to participate. Sorry. There should be some pictures in this evenings paper or tomorrows paper and I will post those pics.
