We lost quite alot of buds because of frost this sprinf...but what did survive is coming right along. Here is one of the tiny first year plants doing his best. I can taste a decadent feast coming on, can't you?
YEAH! Those look so yummy Sjoerd. My mouth is watering. Nothing like strawberries fresh picked on some short cake perhaps, dipped in whipped cream, cream and brown sugar or right off the vine...so many things you can do with them...take your pick! Thanks for sharing.
Those look soooo delicious!! Unfortunately I'm allergic to strawberries so I can only dream of how they taste!!
Oooh, look at those little delicacies! Ours are still blooming, but now I shall have to go and buy me some...
Mine have got some flowers on them, just here and there, still to early yet. Those you have wouldn't even make it home,,lol. They look too darn good! I would just have to sit myself down, right there and taste test them all,,, you know quality control.
My strawberries are just at the flowering stage so I'm hoping that soon I'll be sampling them fresh from the garden. Meanwhile I'll just drool over yours!!
Biita 'n Droopy-- Yes QUALITY CONTROL! That's exactly what we did with 6 of them......all quality and NO control. Hopeless, I know.
Those look wonderful! I visited a strawberry farm in Dusseldorf Germany (we're currently on vacation which is why I haven't been to the Stew), and got my first taste of fresh ones there. I ate until I couldn't anymore! We're now in Hamburg, what a beautiful city, really enjoying the beautiful downtown area with two lakes and lots of biking and walking trails (nowhere to park, so everyone walks or bikes). They have a wonderful botanical garden right in the middle of downtown, and it's free to walk through. Great "Kindergarten" for kids with some very creative playgrounds for them. We're heading to Scotland tomorrow. Sjoerd, we'll fly through Amsterdam going to and fro and have already had to redirect there on our way to Germany due to bad storms in Dusseldorf. They had hail bigger than golf balls and some people were killed. Looked like an enormous amount of greenhouses in Amsterdam from the air.
Hiyah KL. --I'm not sure where those green houses would be, but there are quite a few farmers around the area that raise flowers for export, so I'm not surprized> Could you also see the little canals separating the fields? EJ---Not only was it at the ready and not only cream...but it has all been consumed, right to the last seed and last lick.
