I was awakened last night (3:10 am) when things started crashing down outside by bedroom window. Its the area of my greenhouse etc. To dark to see and to scared to go out there. This is what I found this morning.

I was afraid to open the doors. Critters again I'm sure. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Donna, your pot shed looks neater "post-critter" than mine does "sans-critter"!

Raccoons, bear, possums? Who is the decorator making it fit their sensibilities?

I can see why there was so much noise during the night. It looks as though something was having a field day in your pot shed. I'd plump for racoons as they are such curious creatures and just love getting into everything. Let's hope they're satisfied that there's nothing edible there and leave you pots alone in future.

While we are near the world of James Thurber, perhaps a plant ghost got in your potting shed. After all I am sure that you have had greenery that have expired. Do ghosts of bulbs past wander the potting shed to be investigated by raccoons?
Hmmmm......The night the ghost got in. Thurber lives!!

I just wish they would clean up after themselves. It's only 27* out there. To cold for me to pickup after them.

Oh my Donna, What a mess. At least it wasn't live stuff that was ruined...speaking of which, when it is time to plant in the spring for you DON"T use fish emulsion on your plants. They will dig up your plants looking for the fish, if it was raccoons. Get that little grandson of yours for the day on Sat and have him help you.....that would make it much easier to bend down (he is already that size)....IF you can get him to help. My children (Adrian is a great help as long as it includes tools or equipment) balk and moan and groan at helping. On Saturday we cleaned out the one greenhouse, EVERYTHING went to another house, and we shoveled gravel back in three rows and filled the trenches with soil to plant tomatoes in the house this year and my one son said he "hates gardening and that he won't have a garden, he will come buy it from us" :smt005 :smt044 :smt082 . I was rolling. I said, your father was the same way until about 5 years ago. He thought it was pointless to garden. Just go buy it! Things change as you realize the reward of the labor.

Oh Donna, such a good thing no plants were involved.I have to echo what Marlingardener said .It still looks neater than our sheds.LOL
Bet it was coons, unless you do have bears there.
I would have awakened my hubby & sent him grumbling out to investigate.I could send the dog out,too if not a bear.

Raccoons or cats is my guess. Either way, it's not going to be a fun job to clean that up!
