Third year for young pileateds.

    The pileated woodpecker was feeding this years young today. I couldn't get a decent picture as she fed him on the backside of the branch. The sun didn't help also. Anyway it was fun to see the two together.

    The mother bird must be aware that your garden is a good source of food for her and her youngsters. It must also feel safe enough for her to bring them to your property for three years running. Well done!!
