The pileated woodpecker was feeding this years young today. I couldn't get a decent picture as she fed him on the backside of the branch. The sun didn't help also. Anyway it was fun to see the two together. ( photo / image / picture from Kildale's Garden )
The mother bird must be aware that your garden is a good source of food for her and her youngsters. It must also feel safe enough for her to bring them to your property for three years running. Well done!!
