    Newbiscus mauvelus that is.
Theodoros sent me the seeds. I've been waiting all year for this moment.... it's first blooms.

This is the plant that was damaged by winds recently (not to mention some worms have been eating away at it's leaves). If you look closely you can see where the bark was ripped off when a branch was broken. And it's being propped up by an old rake. I stuck the broken branch in there with it. Who knows... maybe it'll root.
Anyhow... now you can see why I was so anxious to get info to make sure this plant doesn't die.
And thanks again to Theodoros for the seeds!

Thanks Jerry (I like your "two wow flower" term), Eileen and everyone else.
I'd been watching it all weekend and just knew it would bloom this morning. So I made a point to check on it before leaving for work. So I was little late because I had to get photos... priorities! :D
I have another one growing on the other side of the house. It doesn't get as much sun as this one. It has buds, but it will probably be another week or so before they open.

    Very nice.
    But... where's TEO.
Has he been on the forum lately?
Or is it high season on the island now...

Very nice Cheryl. I have two plants I hope to see bloom soon from the seeds you sent me. I think they are white hibiscus.

Calin... I was wondering about Theo also. Maybe he's lost among all those plants of his and can't find his way to the computer? :D

Donna... My White Texas Star Hibiscus is about to bloom also. Funny... the one in the ground came back but is only a foot tall or so and not a single bud. The one I started from seed (and is still in a pot) is 4 foot tall and ready to bloom. :headscratch:

Barb... yes... BIG is great! Especially when it's this pretty.

Thanks everyone. OH yeah... it had two more blooms this morning.

What a stunner! I'm so happy for you. Sowing and getting a result like that must be very rewarding.

I think Theo's too busy to be online. If he's in the tourist industry he'll probably be working his butt off. I don't expect to see him online before October.
