I just spent almost 6 hours playing in the dirt. Sunny day, comfy temperature, could use some rain but that is just the way it has been for so many years around here.

I potted up the Cyclamen instead of putting it in the ground. I want to put them in the front yard next spring. I love these colors.

The Fig tree is pretty much leafless, these figs never got the chance to ripen. Wonder how long they will hang onto the tree? That's a Pecan tree in the background.

The Crepe Myrtle out back is gorgeous but will be bare shortly with the gusts of wind we have had today. If you look closely you can see one or two of the gourds still hanging there.

One of the Blue and Black Salvias is blooming again, all three of the plants are still green too.

And I did get the birth month garden started. Hard to see, but there is a dwarf Burford Holly (DGS Austin),
Montauk Daisy (my Mom and Dad...not really their birth month flower, but Mom loves Daisies and Dad loved Mom), Purple Aster (sil Kenny) to the left of the seat. Red Carnations to the right (Randy's Mom) with Daffs planted between and around (Randy's Dad)
Next spring when they become available, there will be Delphinium/Larkspur (Randy and DGS Nicky), a Honeysuckle on a trellis (Lisa and Amanda) and Chocolate Daisies (Me...also not my birthmonth flower, but Hey, they are chocolate!!!)

I also got more bulbs in the ground...4 more Black Iris, 3 Amaryllis-Belladonna and 36 Ixia (never heard of them but they are pretty)

Oh to be able to play in the dirt like you Toni. It's pouring of rain here and the winds are gale force so I have to stay inside. :(
I do, however, get to see what you've been able to achieve and drool over all the colour you have in your garden. I love the salvia and those cyclamen are gorgeous. :stew1:

It's so funny to see your cyclamen and know that you will plant them outside. Here they are window sill plants. Nice leaf colours, and the birthday garden start seems well organized and under control.

A welcome burst of colour for a otherwise drab December Toni. The birth month garden is a great idea, you must keep us updated with its progress.

There you go, getting the cold weather again while we are sitting here in the 40's at night and 70's daytime.

Glenda, we did get hit hard. One day, there were flowers :stew1: and blooms everywhere and the next morning, only ugly 'what-cha-ma-call-them' .I was outside at 10:30 pm with a coat on over my gown, unscrewing the water hose from the faucet. I kept thinking surely the weatherman was going to be wrong, as they usually are. But he nailed it this time
