Today, Jan. 18th is my husband's last day at work. As of 5:01 p.m. he will be retired! He has worked since he was 16, and really deserves a happy retirement (and no, I am not moving away and leaving him to his joyful existence).
Now he can mess about in his workshop, commune with his bees, do some little chores around the farm, and when I become unbearable he can nip down the road and visit a neighbor in his workshop.
I am so happy that he will be home all the time :-D !
(Check back with me on that last statement in about two weeks).

You're feeling just the way I did when my husband took early reirement a year past September. After a few weeks I was demanding he went to the gym to let me get the housework done in peace!! ;)
The strange thing is our lives seem to be busier than ever and each day is never quite long enough. I wonder sometimes how we both managed to go out to work, raise three children and keep up to date with cooking, cleaning, laundry and shopping. :-?

I thought he was retiring sometime this month, tell him congratulations!!!

Randy works from home fulltime now, almost 2 years. Having him home all the time took some getting used to but I think this is preparing me for when he gets to retire. If you don't already, then you each need to have a room you can go to whenever the closeness gets to be too much....with a door. ;) No matter how much you like each others company, you are going to need your own space too.

Congratulations! You will like having him home a lot. But, tell you vehicle that it doesn't mean it can go joy riding every day. Just once a week or something like that.

Wow that's super news. We will be checking back to see if you are as happy with him being home all the time now.
I also am hoping that my hubby can retire this next year. But I am not so excited about that as you are right now.
After my hubby leaves for work in the morning I get my cup of coffee and go and sit in my comfy chair and do my morning devotionals. It helps to clear my mind and gets my day off to a positive start.
Well when my honey is home my day is not my own. I usually make breakfast for us. Then he takes the paper and retreats to his comfy chair. While he reads the paper he checks out whats on TV. If the news is on then he watches that first.
I retreat to my comfy chair and can't concentrate because of the TV noise. So I am off and running getting some of my projects done. But my day never seems quite as positive without my reading time. I guess I could move to the basement family room. But I so enjoy looking out the patio doors to see if there is any wild life passing threw.
I know! I'll move his chair to the family room. :-D

Please pass along my congrats to your Hubby!
I bet there's enough room and enough to do at Red Gate to keep you both occupied... together and separate. :D

Sending my congrats to your husband too! A well deserved time in his life. Hope he enjoys every minute now doing the things he wants to do (and some stuff you want him to do ;) )
I can't wait for my guy to totally retire in about 4 more years. We are both kinds semi-retired and really enjoy spending time puttering and enjoying our lives.
