Looks like you have the local population under control. But what about Ninja Bunnies? Dressed in black with grappling hooks and rope they lurk in the shadows at night. Waiting. Perhaps you don't have Ninja Bunnies in your neighborhood. Lucky you. Then you will enjoy a bountiful harvest with no bunnies at the supper table. Did I just see a movement in the shadows? Jerry
Great looking, and will probably work (bunnies are notoriously sneaky). Be sure to put some chicken wire or hardware cloth on the bottom foot or so--bunnies can get through very narrow spaces. I like the price, too!
I will have to check out craigslist ! That fence looks good to me. And yes, some chicken wire around the bottom to keep the bunnies out. They are a sneaky bunch. I have chicken wire on one side of my veggie garden so far. And half of another side. I have a 2d side fenced with the barbed wire fence of my horse pasture. I need 1 1/2 sides of fence to go... And more fence for horsey's pasture.
donna in nc, Why keep beating yourself up.... Go get a 5 pound bag of Dried Blood....sprinkle it around that garden after every rain. They will stay away..... I buy it in 50 pound bags and that's all I use to keep them away. I use a flour sifter to make it spread evenly around things. Expensive but good. Only Dried Blood which is hard to find these days.
At least you know the bunnies aren't vampires or zombies! Haha Like your fence.... cute idea Have a good night
we got 2 8ft panels done last night am loving it so far. am going to decorate the outside of it with crafts like wreaths and hubcap flowers and a birdbath
Congrats on your haul Donna! I love all the comments about bunnies--ninja or not! I guess we can all relate to the frustration of those little chompers, cute as they are. (I would sic my dancing Buddhas on them, but I think they would only encourage them.) Barb--I used to use dried blood & it worked like a charm. In the last 2? 3? years, I have not been able to find it.
about got it done and it is looking good am proud of it can't decide if I want to paint it or leave it natural I'd like to white wash it but also would like the natural descions descions lol
That's because the us gov't is controlling the way it's made and has become sooo expensive. I paid $50.00 for my last big bag. After trying blood meal and many other products instead of paying those prices, I finally gave in. Old fashioned dried blood does the trick. Dried blood looks a little like coffee grounds. I used to just sprinkling it around the gardens in dried form. Now I am thinking about dissolving it with water and spraying it around. It can burn plants that way but will be cheaper to use. You guys don't have to be afraid of dried blood. It's also used as part of a fertilizer. It's a good thing, not just for vampires and zombies. LOL I do love the fence also. I have a little picket fence around my little pond in front of my greenhouse. I always worried about a little kid falling into it, even though I have no little ones living here. You never know if someone has a child over to visit, or a little puppy or other critter may fall into it. Anyway, I love the idea of things hanging on it. I keep little birdhouses all over the front and Clematis on one side of mine.
