Someone threw away these three plants in the sidewalk. I thought they looked great and one of them even had buds on them. These plants had a fibrous kind of root (dont know if those are roots at all). Anybody know what plants are these?

It is a Yucca filamentosa. It will have a flower stalk about 2 to 5 feet tall with cream colored flowers.

Definately yucca. I have them along the north side of my driveway. My husband counted over 3o stalks that will soon be in bloom.

Yep, Yucky! please be aware of the serrated edges of the leaves. You'll think someone took a serrated knife to your skin if you try to pull your hand through them as you weed around them. ... If you decide to keep them. I, myself, would NEVER let them in my flower bed, even though the flowers are pretty.

The first photo shows the filament threads that line the margin of the leaf giving this Yucca its species name.
