So, you remember the old fairy tale about the 3 little pigs, you know, the first little piggy made his new house out of straw, the second little piggy made his new home out of wood, and the third little piggy made his new home out of bricks, or did he go wee wee wee all the way home? Ooops, I think I'm getting something mixed up here. Anyway, then, --- along came the big bad wolf, a huffin and a puffen. I'm sure you remember the story, well here is a modern day version, that played out just outside my front window on the lake. There was this one Ice fisherman that got cold while out on the ice, so to protect himself from all that cold and wind, he set up a tent. Well, just up the lake a peace, a second Ice fisherman was experiencing much the same cold and wind, and also wanted to do something to make his fishing a little more comfortable. So the second guy brought out a wood shanty. Well, last night the cold front from Canada came through, and the wind (much, I assume, like the big bad wolf) huffed and puffed, --- and, well, you guessed it, --- just as in the fairy tale, it huffed and it puffed and it blew the tent down. But the wood shanty was strong enough to survive. By the way, both fisherman were home, or going to the market, or not, or having roast beef, or??? ------- know I'm all mixed up----

So I wrote all that just to justify these 2 pictures, which now as I look at them probably aren't worth the time spent.

You may remember this from a post a few days ago, with an Eagle.

My nephews belonged to a scout troop that went snow camping every winter. I wouldn't want to do that. I did have a friend in Wisconsin who went snow camping with her dog every winter. Maybe it was on a one dog night. dooley

Brrr! I used to enjoy ice fishing. We had a wooden hut with a heater. It was toasty inside but now I want no part of it! LOL

Oh dear that tent certainly didn't do much good for the ice fisherman who used it did it? The wooden shanty certainly looks much sturdier so if I ever decide to come out your way to do a spot of fishing on the ice I think I'd plump for that!! Meanwhile I think I'll stop moaning about our Scottish snow, ice and gale force winds as they're nothing like the conditions you have put up with over there. Stay warm and safe.

Thank you for your story, it made me laugh, and I needed a good laugh to go with my breakfast. :D

We like to build snow caves and spend the night in those. I don't find it tempting, but lots of families obviously do.
