This is Iowa River In Marengo. DH took the picture.Farmer next to it.I noticed he had put electric fence on sand bars-to keep his cattle in.They kept breaking fence to get to water to drink in 115 temps this summer.

It all looks so placid now. It is a lovely pic, Kosz. Are those the supports of an old bridge that I see there in the distance?

The town of Marengo would have been flooded bad.But has a high levee. I would have had to cross the Bridge to get one customer. But to make that trip would have had to make all most 500 mile Round trip in 08.

Dh took it with his new camera I got him. All that sand bars all ways had water over it.Seen farmer had electric fence to keep cattle from going into river.Got to make new fence. His well went dry that he watered them. He had heck of a time rounding them all up.
