This is what I managed to come up with for a Christmas wreath. I'm rather pleased with it: Now I need to make my neighbour's wreath, but she'll have to wait until tomorrow or the day after.
Very, very pretty. I know your neighbor is waiting patiently for her wreath, will hers looks like yours? Is mine in the mail???
Let me just add another "very" to Toni's......VERY. That wreath is so lovely this yeaqr. The greenery is thick and luscious and the bits and bobs just make it perfect. I sit here and look at your wreaths every year and just scratch my head at how good they always turn-out. Well done, miss.
Oh how pretty, Droopy! I just love it! Nice and full. What a lucky neighbor you have! What is the greenery that you used? It looks kind of like cedar or hemlock?
I've been wondering if I could make a wreath. Is it hard to do? Howard was trimming some trees last week and I noticed he cut some cedar branches. I could go and get some and try it. I might botch it but at least I'd know if I could do it. The branches are free. Howard owns the property here. We just rent some of it. There was some trees with red berries too. Maybe I could sneak a few of them into it. The berries aren't good to eat, but I don't plan on that either. Maybe I will try it. I know it won't look as beautiful as Droopy's. She does a great job. dooley
Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. I use thuja for greenery and add some variegated holly to brighten it. Even though some components are the same every year the wreaths always turn out different. My neighbour likes birds, so I'll put birds in hers. The general look will be the same, with thuja, holly and a bow on top there. I wouldn'd dare send a wreath made from live material to you, Toni. It would be wilted before it reached the Texan border. I'm certain you could make a wreath, they're not hard to do as long as you know how to do them. It just takes a long time to cut the greenery and tie it on. If you search "How to make a wreath" there are some nice ideas and how-to-s out there. Go for it, and good luck!
Thank you all! You're too kind. Now, who wants to make a GardenStew village somewhere, and where do we want it? Then we could all be neighbours for real.
